The Healing Clouds — Breathwork with Emma Uhlenhopp

I’m Emma, a breathwork coach and facilitator based in The Hague.

I’m a breathwork coach and facilitator with an MSc in Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health. My breathwork practice explores how our breathing affects the way we feel — and how we can use our breath as a tool to support our health, well-being, and healing. Our breath is one of the most accessible and powerful tools we carry within us.

Drawing from both scientific understanding and experiential practice, I offer spaces where people can slow down, turn inward, and explore the simple act of breathing with more intention. My approach is gentle and compassionate — creating space for participants to explore the power of their breath at their own pace — and is rooted in the belief that growth and transformation occur when we feel truly seen and supported.

So, what is breathwork?

We breathe all day, every day, yet few of us do it well. We’re born knowing how to breathe well — with soft bellies and full, flowing, natural breaths. But over time, stress, posture, and the pace of life can cause our breath to become fast, shallow, and restricted. Without realizing it, many of us breathe in a way that signals the body to stay in stress mode.

Your breath is your body’s first language, and it’s constantly communicating with your nervous system.

If we bring awareness to our everyday breathing — slowing it down and breathing into our diaphragm — we can shift the nervous system from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest,” promoting a state of calm and balance. This can help reduce stress and anxiety, boost mood and energy, improve focus and performance, and support better sleep and recovery.

The way you breathe shapes the way you live. Shift your breath, and your life shifts with it.

Breathwork is the practice of intentionally working with your breath to support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Rooted in ancient traditions and supported by modern science, breathwork is a simple yet powerful practice – one that has been used for thousands of years to regulate the nervous system, restore balance between mind and body, and reconnect with yourself, others, and the world around you.

There are different ways to work with the breath, depending on what you need. Some techniques are simple and calming — helping regulate stress, settle the mind, and support focus throughout the day. Others are more activating, used to boost energy and enhance performance. There are also deeper practices that facilitate self-exploration, meaningful insight, and clarity — creating space for emotional processing, release, and healing. Breathwork can support everyday moments or be used as a guided practice for deeper inner work.

Whether you’re here to manage stress, enhance performance, or explore personal growth, your breath always meets you where you are. You don’t need prior experience — just your breath, and your willingness to work with it.

Clouds drift, breath flows, and within, a stillness unfolds. Our breath gently guides us to witness the passing of thoughts and emotions without judgment nor attachment. With each inhale, we expand into wholeness; with each exhale, we surrender into softness; and in the space between, we return back home to ourselves.
